Der Commodore 64 kehrt zurück. Derzeit gibt es auf Indiegogo eine Kampagne „THE 64“, die neben dem Tastatur-Computer noch einen Handheld mit eigenem Bildschirm beinhaltet. Wie die Entwickler mitteilen, soll es das Produkt so oder so geben. Denn als Finanzierungsziel wurde bei Indiegogo die flexible Variante gewählt. Ihr erhaltet einfach nur die Produkte ein wenig früher und mit ein paar Extras.
Wirkliches Crowdfunding sieht ja schon anders aus. Zudem gibt es keine offizielle Lizenz und die technischen Daten lauten bisher:
- Accurate recreation of the classic Commodore 64.
- HDMI video and audio output.
- We are considering composite video in addition to HDMI, for use on classic televisions.
- Multiple SIDs for stereo sound (6581 or 8580)
- New high-capacity (512MB+) writable cartridge support, with an adapter interface available later to provide classic cartridge compatibility.
- Support for current storage media (for example SD cards), with emulation of the 1541.
- Multiple joystick support for multi-player games.
- Support for many of the popular emulator game file formats.
- Firmware upgradable to support additional features and machines in the future (DTV64 features, etc.)
- Hopefully the possibility to connect original peripherals, or via adaptors.
Wahrscheinlich steckt in dem Computer ein Emulator drin. THE 64 SX ist dann die Handheld-Variante. Die portable Version sieht schon recht schick aus, wenn die Steuerung und das Display vernünftig sind bekommt ihr diese Variante für 170 US-Dollar plus Versand. Bisher unterstützen nur knapp über 200 Leute THE 64 auf Indiegogo. Dort gibt es auch weitere Details.
